Why Do So Many Young Celebrities Have Thick Hair? The Truth Behind Hair Loss and Hairpieces

Nowadays, many people born in the 1990s are starting to experience hair loss. From once being fresh-faced and youthful, some are turning into what people jokingly call “bald guys” or “bald ladies,” with their appearance and overall charm taking a noticeable hit.

As a female singer and actress from the ’90s generation, Ju Jingyi once questioned, “Why would someone go bald at such a young age?” Indeed, her current hair looks incredibly thick—almost like a “lion’s mane”—which makes many people envious.

Many are curious about her voluminous long hair. In an interview, Ju Jingyi once responded simply: “It’s probably genetic.” But is that really the case? A look at her earlier photos might suggest otherwise.

From her early images, we can clearly see that not only did her appearance differ from now, but her hair volume was also noticeably thinner. So what exactly happened? Did she undergo a hair transplant? While hair transplants can produce new hair growth, the process takes a long time, and the survival rate is not always high. Moreover, transplanted hair often grows unevenly and lacks the natural fullness seen in her current look.

Looking at her recent styling, her thick, voluminous curls are undeniably enviable. They carry a distinctive Hong Kong-inspired aesthetic that enhances her charm and overall appeal.

In fact, many celebrities have experienced hair loss. Stars like Jay Chou, Joker Xue, and Huang Xiaoming are often mentioned as examples. So why do they still appear to have such thick hair now? The answer is simple—they use hairpieces or wigs, which maintain the illusion of fullness.

Actresses like Jiang Mengjie and Meng Meiqi have even had their hairpieces fall off on shows and openly admitted to using them. This level of honesty is often seen as refreshing. Compared to them, Ju Jingyi has been perceived by some as less transparent, leading to criticism that she appears “fake.”

That said, Ju Jingyi is undeniably beautiful. While some may point out minor flaws in her figure, her looks and talent are widely recognized and appreciated.

If not for her earlier photos, many people might have continued to believe that her enviable long hair was completely natural. While it may not be entirely real, there’s no denying that her fuller hairstyle makes her look even more attractive and youthful.

In reality, wearing wigs or hairpieces has become completely normal. Everyone has the right to pursue beauty, and there is nothing to be ashamed of. Sometimes, being open and honest is far more appealing than trying to cover things up with unnecessary explanations—it might even win more fans.
